“Head, Heart & Hands”
This year’s AASCA Leadership Conference will be a powerful opportunity for Central America’s top student leaders to come together and be equipped to be strong leaders through exhilarating and fun activities. This will be a life-changing week, including a mixture of team-building events, inspirational talks and leadership skills workshops. The conference will prepare each young leader to go back to their families, schools and communities ready to make a lasting difference!
Here is the schedule for a sneak peek into what you will be doing:
Thursday
(Students can begin arriving as early as noon and will be served lunch as well as participating in icebreaking activities)
3:00 pm 2009 AASCA Leadership Conference Kick-off
Introduction to AASCA Leadership Championship Cup Competition
4:00 pm Students formed into teams, get to know each other, elect Captains, Co-Captains
5:00 pm Team Challenges
6:00 pm Dinner
7:00 pm Evening Extravaganza: Music, fun and team competitions
8:00 pm Session #1- Leadership 101: An Introduction to Head, Heart & Hands
9:00 pm Mixer to get to know each other
10:30 pm Head to Dorms
11:00 pm Get some rest!
Friday
7:00 am Breakfast
8:00 am Morning Mix-Up
8:30 am Session #2 – Get Your Head In the Game: Developing a Clear Concept of Leadership
9:00 am Team Volleyball Tournament
11:00 am Swim/Clean-up
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm The 2009 AASCA Olympics
3:30 pm Team Speech Prep Time (Team preps and selects one team member to give speech)
5:00 pm Clean-up/Get ready for dinner
6:00 pm Dinner
7:00 pm Evening Extravaganza: Music, fun and team competitions
8:00 pm Each team presents a speech on “What Kind of Leaders Does Central America Need?”
8:30 pm Session #3- The Heart of a Champion: The Challenge to Care
9:00 pm Roller Skating/Rock Climbing/Foosball
10:30 pm Head to Dorms
11:00 pm Get some rest!
Saturday
7:00 am Breakfast

8:30 am Session #4 – Getting Your Hands Dirty: Becoming Leaders of Action & Not Just Talk
9:00 am Team Dodgeball Tournament
11:00 am Swim/Clean-up

3:30 pm The One & Only Reto Selva
5:00 pm Clean-up/Get ready for dinner

6:30 pm Team Bag Skit Prep

8:00 pm Each team presents a skit/drama using a bag of props
8:30 pm Closing Ceremony: Championship Trophies and Leadership Awards presented
