BULLETIN #3

Dear AASCA Directors and Principals:

We are at less than four weeks from your arrival in San Salvador.  We again remind everyone to be in country no later than 4:00pm.  Our first activity, the “Ice Breaker” begins at 6:00pm.  This year´s AASCA Knowledge Bowl will use questions from Academic Hallmarks. We inform all coaches that the questions will be drawn from the new and well as previous editions.  Each package of questions will be pristine and opened at the beginning of each match.

AASCA Knowledge Bowl rules indicate that Varsity teams consist of students in grades 8-12.  The Junior Varsity teams can only have students in grades 8-10 only.

We expect that all schools have confirmed their hotel reservations.  We do remind you that the hotels will not be able to hold any rooms past October 20.  Terraza Hotel only has 15 more rooms available.  The Princess Hotel and the Sheraton Hotel have more availability but your school needs to reserve as soon as possible to take advantage of the rates that have been offered.  Please make sure you communicate with contact the person whose name we gave you.

We are still awaiting the travel arrangements from most of the schools.  We need this information as soon as possible to organize the pick-up at the airport and the transportation from the hotels to the schools.

  • There is a $400 per team to cover the tournament expenses.  If you are bringing a Varsity and Junior Varsity that is $400 per team ($800)
