Dear AASCA Principals and Middle School Music Teachers,
Receive a warm hello from San Jose, Costa Rica. This school year we will be hosting the AASCA Middle School Honor Choir Festival at Country Day School, on March 17-21, 2010.
This event was hosted for the first time by Colegio Americano in Guatemala in 2008 with great success.
We are looking forward to making the second edition a great educational experience for all the students.
The members of the choir are identified at each school and each choir practices the selected repertoire during the year. When the students come together in March they rehearse, share and perform in a final concert in a theater in San Jose. The schools can also participate with their individual choirs, presenting 1 or 2 songs in the final concert.
I will be sending the repertoire for the event as soon as possible.
This activity constitutes a wonderful opportunity in many ways. It addresses specifically middle school students, it opens a space for sharing musical experiences in our schools and it stimulates cross-cultural exchange and understanding.
Attached you can find the tentative itinerary, the hotel information, and the pre-registration form.
Please confirm your participation before December 17th, and make your hotel reservations as soon as possible to reserve your space.
